BHR FACILITIES

Information regarding many of the BHR common areas used by residents and associate members is below.

BUILDING AND GROUNDS

Because of the equestrian focus of the neighborhood, Black Horse Run has a more diverse array of common properties than most neighborhoods. From the clubhouse and pool to the pastures and trails, BHR has many different ways that members and their guests can enjoy their surroundings.

Pool

One of BHR’s most popular amenities is our community pool. Normally open from Memorial Day through September 24, our outdoor pool is a favorite gathering spot. It is also home to our swim team,  The Mustangs, a popular neighborhood activity for decades.

Please visit this link for more pool information and protocols:  Pool Season 2023.

Clubhouse and Clubhouse Rental

The BHR clubhouse is one of the social centers for neighborhood gatherings and team events. Located next to the pool on Black Horse Run, it houses the BHR office. It also features several gathering spaces including a ballroom area and a loft area with a pool table.

The clubhouse is available for rental to members of Black Horse Run. There is a rental fee and a cleaning fee, as well as a deposit required for rentals. Those interested in renting the clubhouse for an event are advised to contact the BHR office at 919-847-3131 or BHRPOA@bellsouth.net. Please note that rentals are more difficult during pool season, as the pool is open from morning to evening and pool staff uses the clubhouse to serve pool guests.

Tennis Courts, Basketball Court, Playground, and Picnic Area

BHR’s recreational facilities include two tennis courts, a basketball court, a playground with sets for older kids as well as toddlers, and picnic areas with grills.

Black Horse Run resident members and associate members have full access to these recreational facilities surrounding the clubhouse. If you are interested in renting the facilities for a private event, please contact the BHR office at 919-847-3131 or BHRPOA@bellsouth.net.

Equestrian Facilities

Black Horse Run’s community barn is the hub for the neighborhood’s equestrian community, though many neighbors have private barns on their properties.

If you are planning to visit the barn on your own, please be sure to read the rules included in the Recreation Equestrian section of the website.

Other equestrian facilities include the riding ring and 11+ miles of riding trails, both of which are for use by BHR community barn owners as well as BHR private barn owners. Please note that, except in the case of a show or other special event, BHR’s equestrian facilities are for use by BHR members and their guests only.
